1 Year Check-up

Frank had his 1 year check up yesterday. He came in at a whopping 22.5lbs (50th percentile) and height was 30.5in (75th percentile).

The worst part of the day began with restraining him from crawling on the nasty floor for over an hour in the waiting room. We finally got called back only to get his finger stuck first thing. His poor finger wouldn't quit bleeding. We went through 3 band-aids and a sheet change on the counter! Finally, the doctor came in. She said everything looked great. We now need to go "cold turkey" to whole milk, no formula (which was expected). However, now we also have to go "cold turkey" from baby food to table food. Frank handles table food great, but he doesn't have enough patience to feed himself for longer than 5 minutes to get the adequate amount of food down to get full. So, I would typically "fill in" with baby food. I am trying today to restrain from that. It's not going so well. I feel like he's fussy due to his hunger. We'll see how dinner goes...

Back to the visit...after the doctor left, we headed to the vaccine room - where we waited another 25 minutes to even enter. Frank then received 3 shots - OUCH! He cried for a while, but then sucked it up and we went on our way! WHEW! Long day! So, of course, he fell asleep 30 seconds from our house. I tried getting him out slowly to put him in his crib, but he couldn't stay asleep due to the horrible down pouring rain and thunder! UGH!

We topped the night off with some Mexican food! YUM!

No more shots for a few years! Now, he's up from his nap. Until next time....
